This course is a preparation for the study of the Alfiyyah, by Ibn Mālik. It is an iʿrāb intensive, and includes looking at sentences from multiple angles, a skill necessary to properly appreciate the depths of works of tafsīr. We will be covering the entire text of Manẓūmat Iʿrāb al-Jumal & its commentary, Nayl al-Amal, by two Shinqīṭī (Mauritanian) scholars. We will also include coverage of Mudnī al-Ḥabīb, a versification of the Mughnī, and its commentary, Fatḥ al-Qarīb al-Mujīb, by two Ethiopian scholars.

The course will prepare the students by including supporting commentary from Qaṭr al-Nadā and the Alfiyyah. In this way, it reinforces existing knowledge and prepares the student for their future text.
